A2 Media group reports today - a2mediagroup.com:

For the first year at Dyffryn the sun was kind to us and the results have been outstanding with the event being well attended by BN members, beach users and last but not least those who came along to talk to us, naked for the first time in public, and are now completely sold by our slogan “Nothing's Better”

During the day, of the 1000 or more people on the beach, we talked to over 400 of them serving tea, coffee, cakes and information.

When we arrived, members of the team walked along talking to everyone, and I mean everyone who was there, inviting them to come along and join us.

This time we were also pleased to see Clubs and Holiday organisers coming along and selling themselves which is a wonderful extension of what we are trying to do as a BN team.

What is most astounding is that many people still do not know that there are other beaches or clubs in Britain and think of themselves as in a minority, well the lucky ones don’t feel that way anymore.

Two of us I pulled a heavy trolley each full of everything we needed for the day from an extensive range of sports equipment, (which was well used), to tents, food, drinks and BN merchandise.

It was far lighter on the return trip with the BN shop nearly selling out and every bit of food and water used, we even had to make a second trip to the distant car park to fetch more BN membership information packs as people listened to what we had to offer and understood the reason for having a national organisation behind you, fighting for your rights.

Although there were people who had come especially from all parts of Britain, the team, were able to deal with, or take away, all of the questions put to them about national issues, beach sizes and information relevant to their own area, in many cases pointing them towards local amenities they’d never heard of.

The team involved led by our President Pat Thompson, work hard for the success of these days and they must be praised, as it’s their efforts that make these days a success. No one gets paid to give up their own time to make other naturists feel they belong to a big worldwide family.

We left Dyffryn with a feeling of elation at the success of the day and we are still talking about the people we met.

If they are doing the same then it was all worthwhile and we will be back next year, along with other beaches which will advertised in BN’s own magazine or on our web page

http://www.british-naturism.org.uk/ .

All the best and remember “Nothing's Better”

Steve Thompson
